FDY filament Yarn is one of the products of the Sirang co-operative company
(The largest producer of various types of polyester and polypropylene threads)
Here you will get familiar about this type of fiber and its production process:
FDY yarn (Fully Drawn Yarn)
fully drawn yarns fixed through stretching, orientation and crystallization
It is produced during the melting and stretching operations on the POY yarn. It is done in one-step or two-step fashion.
This yarn is used as the first material of twisted threads and is also used directly in knitting.
The process of producing FDY yarns is similar to the production of POY yarn, except that it is fully matched under heat and stretching operations. FDY is produced in a variety of colors from Denier 50 to 1200.
Usage of FDY yarns
SIRANG Co. is one of the few high-shrink yarn manufacturers in Iran. FDY threads use different types of shrinkage in different areas of the textile industry. For example, FDY threads with a high shrinkage are used in the fabrication of cloth and curtain fabrics and create a blooming structure on the fabric surface. Low-shrink F.D.Y threads are widely used in the rachel blanket industry.
These yarns are used for direct twisting, multiplies yarns, beaming and direct knitting.
FDY threads are mostly used to make non-textured fabrics.
- Industrial (industrial coatings, insulating, flooring, carpeting, etc.)
- Sanitary (wet tissues, sanitary napkins, baby diapers and …)
- medical (hospital clothes, pads, surgical set, wound healing, bandage …)
Other uses of this kind of yarn are in the production of cloth rings, crepe fabric, curtains, lace fabrics, scarves, women’s t-shirts, sewing and embroidery yarns, shaggy machine carpets, chanel yarns, sacks and luggage.
